Twin Vault Refurbishment
FORCE SOLUTION
We were appointed to design a temporary works solution to allow the partial demolition of an existing masonry twin vaulted structure, underpin the structural walls, and install a new structural slab to increase the headroom within the vaulted structures.
Our temporary works solution was to install vertical props with a curved timber spreader to support the vaulted roof during the demolition with raking props to the rear earth retaining walls. Underpins were installed in the hitone-miss-two underpinning sequence, the ground level reduced, and the new RC ground bearing slab installed.
