CASE STUDY:
Temporary Works & Portal Steel Frame Installation
VALUE
£29,500
CLIENT
Grangewood
PROJECT SCOPE
We were appointed to design and install the temporary works and permanent steelwork to support the existing masonry rear façade of a semidetached 5-storey residential property to allow for an open plan extension of the property into the rear garden.
Our scope of works included the permanent steel connection design, steel fabrication, and the installation of the permanent steelwork with suspended RC infill slabs.
FORCE SOLUTION
Our temporary works solution was to install needles installed in discrete pockets supported on braced high-capacity props bearing on the existing structural slab, which allowed for the masonry below the needles to be completely removed and the new structural steel frame erected.
