PROJECT SCOPE
We were appointed to design and install the temporary works to allow for existing low-strength RC columns to be demolished and replaced with new permanent steel columns. The columns were within an existing basement of a semi-detached 5-storey residential property.
FORCE SOLUTION
Our temporary works solution was to install two levels of high-capacity braced props at lower ground floor and basement level to transfer the loads of the structure above, ahead of breaking out the existing columns, and installing the new permanent steel columns.
