PROJECT SCOPE

We were appointed to design and install a new lower ground floor RC slab to support the existing semi-detached 4-storey residential property above.

FORCE SOLUTION

With access only available via a standard doorway and the operating headroom limited to 2.8m, we installed 350mm diameter open bored piles with a mini-piling rig and spliced segmental pile cages.

Following installation of the piles, the internal structural walls were supported on sacrificial temporary stools installed in discrete pockets.

The 250mm thick RC slab was designed with integral 400mm deep downstand beams to transfer the significant loads of the structural walls above.
